RS2 (Reciprocal System 2) is the re-evaluation of Dewey B. Larson's Reciprocal System of physical theory. Its mission is to provide a more accurate theoretical foundation, using concepts derived from projective geometry, counterspace, Theosophy and Anthroposophy to derive a fuller, more consistent model than what Larson originally proposed a half century ago. This site is kept separate from Larson's RS theory in order to keep students from getting confused by Larsonian and RS2 fundamentals.

The Reciprocal System of theory (RS theory) was created by engineer Dewey B. Larson in the 1950s, where he proposed a model of the universe based on the concept of motion as primary to matter. It did not get much, if any, recognition simply because researchers could not adjust to the concept of motion without something actually moving.

Larson did discover something quite remarkable: the precise, dimensional relationship between space and time. By using that relationship, he was able to build a theoretical universe based on two postulates that closely resembles the observed universe, at both small (subatomic) and large (galactic) scales. Larson predicted some events that must exist as a logical consequence of his postulates, which had not yet been discovered, from new forms of atomic disintegration to quasi-stellar objects.

The Reciprocal System was, however, just a really good first draft of a generalized theory of everything (TOE), and does have its problems. Two of the members of ISUS (the International Society of Unified science), Prof. KVK Nehru of India and Dr. Bruce Peret of the United States, discovered that research done in the areas of alternative science and philosophy had found solutions to these problem areas and took it upon themselves to do a re-evaluation of Larson's original concepts, merge them with these other understandings, and see what resulted. The result is RS2--an updated version of Larson's Reciprocal System that that provides integrated solutions to the problems discovered with Larson's original system.

Sonoluminescence

I was looking at the different mechanisms generally used to multiple frequencies, and hit upon an old friend, sonoluminiscence.

Basically, this is a process where, by setting up acoustic standing waves in water at ultrasonic freqencies, at resonance, one can see that the bubbles of air in the water implode with a bluish-white light flash. So far conventional physics has no explanation of this process.

History and Development of the RS/RS2 Fundamental Postulates

At Dr. Huck's suggestion, I have done a complete rewrite of the "Fundamental Postulates" page on the main site, to show the history of the development of Larson's postulates and how the RS2 postulates were extrapolated from them.

Moving RS2 back to ISUS/RS ?

Dr. Rainer Huck, treasurer and executive director of ISUS for the last 30 years, has started a motion within the ISUS Board of Directors to bring the RS2 research back under ISUS, where it originally started back in 2001, as a research project of Prof. KVK Nehru and myself.

Programming

Though I initially started development with C++, I have moved to Java because of portability problems with Windows (Vista, in particular). So far, it seems to run fairly well on Linux (tested on Fedora, CentOS and Cygwin), Mac, Windows XP and Vista.

After trying MANY different canned programs, libraries and resources, I have settled on using the following for development:

  • Java 6 (or 1.6)
  • NetBeans IDE (project-based in groups)
  • Subversion code management system (testing on server now, will be available to developers).
  • OpenGL graphics, including the "glu" and "glut" libraries for primitives.
  • JOGL (Java OpenGL) interface library (started with Java3D, but they don't seem to be supporting it any more).
  • Webstart for Java 6 for large application deployment; applets for smaller applications.

Magnetic reconnection

Does RST or RS2 have an explanation for what astronomers call "magnetic reconnection"?

I was triggered by this article and the great animation that goes with it:

To me "crossing magnetic field lines" that "reconnect" look unphysical, at least to my Maxwell trained mind.

Motion tetraktys

The postulate of RST and RS2 is that motion comes in three scalar dimensions and three speed classifications:  unit speed(1, 1/1), below lightspeed (V,s/t) or above lightspeed (E,t/s).
