Breaking Out: The Process of Becoming a Tomorrow Person

So you want to evolve into a Tomorrow Person? It is possible! The process can take from hours to years, depending on the person, how open they are to the metaphysical realm, and what they have done to their mind and body in the past. Here's a checklist you can review. The more of these qualities you have, the faster and easier it is to break out:

  • Those who break out the soonest have had some metaphysical experiences, seeing ghosts, UFOs or other paranormal activity, early on in their life before the socially-imposed barriers have been put into place to block them out.
  • Have not used psycho-active substances, legal or illegal, which include prescription drugs such as anti-depressants and caffeine. Proper neuron health is key to the neural cascade that occurs during the breaking out process, which has been described as "brain meltdown"!
  • Do not use liquor or smoke tobacco, which dulls the pathways in the section of the brain that is triggered upon breaking out. Numbing the feelings might cure emotional pain, but feelings are the gateway to the metaphysical realm.
  • Are primarily a pacifist and will not deliberately engage in violence upon another, and in most cases not upon other lifeforms as well. This is not a requirement for breaking out, as some very violent people have broken out and end up working for the military intelligence branches of governments. Tomorrow People walk a different path.
  • You have a desire and patience to walk the path at a rate you can handle comfortably; those who rush the system tend to burn up on reentry.
  • You are reasonably intelligent with an inquiring mind, open to new possibilities on the structure of the Universe and the structure of your psyche.

The process of breaking out can happen in two ways: consciously, with the aid of others, or unconsciously, in response to pressure.

Unfortunately, the unconscious approach occurs most frequently, due to the small number of conscious Tomorrow People. When it happens, it is usually sudden and unexpected; for the empath, they can become overwhelmed by the emotions of everyone around them. For the telepath, they can no longer distinguish their own thoughts and feelings from other people, particularly family and friends. Telekinetics can literally cause themselves harm, because the repressed contents will try to express themselves physically in the outside world. After a period of adjustment, the newly acquired psi skills calm down, and are either repressed (typically because society fears the unknown) or knowingly put into hiding.

The conscious approach is becoming a viable option with the onset of the Internet, where people can be drawn to other TPs via synchronicity, and arrive prior to breaking out. That is what this section of the Antiquatis web site is for... for those who have the desire to evolve, are willing to put in the work, and are willing to become who they really are, without consequence. The conscious approach to breaking out is documented here, and on the Antiquatis Forums.

Those with telepathic ability can sense when someone is about to break out, either through the symbolism they are projecting (dreams, real-life events) or their imprint within the Social Memory Complex of Earth, which is more of a "feeling" function. Prior to breaking out, telepaths sense a kind of "bubble" in the fabric of the SMC, which has an identity attached to it (called a psychospoor). If the one breaking out is someone they know, the association is obvious. However, from the onset of that bubble, there is no way to tell a time frame for breaking out--it varies greatly.

A person wishing a conscious breaking out should start to study their own psyche in detail--the psychology of self. The psyche has an internal "language", based on symbols and motifs, that it uses to communicate between the complexes within the psyche, and to interpret other information coming in from "outside." The first stage is to become aware of those symbols and motifs, and document them into a language. This mapping process is called Psychocartography.

Once a person has their symbols, the next step is to distinguish what information is "theirs", what they inherited from others, and what is external. This can be a bit tricky because inherited information looks the same as true knowledge. It is here we typically get all our personal biases from family, society and culture. After the map of the psyche is well under way, "values" can be assigned to the symbols, and the symbols grouped--this association will show some borders in the terrain, rivers, oceans, continents, which aid in determining what belongs to what.

After there is some background in symbols, motifs and a somewhat new concept of the Universe, a person is ready to "break out" as an act of will, rather than a result of pressure. This can be done very easily with another TP, and "distance" tends to be irrelevant, though it helps to be at the same location to deal with any unanticipated consequences. Some people do not realize the strength of their own minds!

The process of breaking out, itself, is more of a "letting go" of bias and blocks, rather than a turning on of a facility. It is described in the first episode of the BBC's "The Tomorrow People" by Carol, to help Stephen break out (he started unconscious, and was hospitalized, but detected by the Tomorrow People who came to his aid):

After one does Break Out, they will have to come to the terms of actually BELIEVING it! The first reaction tends to be one of suppression, which if left unchallenged, will do exactly what you have requested--it will suppress the psi skills. This is way staying in contact with other Tomorrow People, on a regular basis, is very important. The mundane world of "Muggles" or "Saps" (homo sapiens) can easily shut the system down. By staying in contact, the system remains open and continues to grow and develop.
